Kajol
Kajol has acted in some of Bollywood’s biggest hits. Since 2001, she has acted in only a couple of movies. However, she still remains one of India’s most popular Bollywood actresses.
Kajol made her debut in 1992 with Bekhudi. Her first real hit was Baazigar (1993). In this movie, she starred with Shah Rukh Khan. She has since starred in movies like Yeh Dillagi (1994) and Karan Arjun (1995). One of the biggest successes of her career was Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995). She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for this role. Her pairing with Shah Rukh Khan was a hit. They have been in five successful films together.
Kajol is also a friend of Bollywood director, Karan Johar. She has acted in his films, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001). Both of these films were super-hits. Kajol won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for both these films. She has done special appearances in Karan Johar’s other films, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
Since 2001, Kajol has taken a break from movies. She got married to actor Ajay Devgan and has a baby daughter. In 2006, she appeared in a film, Fanaa. In this movie, she played the role of Zooni, a blind Kashmiri girl. It was the first time she had been paired opposite Aamir Khan. The film was critically acclaimed.
Recently, Kajol has made several television appearances. She appeared on Koffee With Karan and Indian Idol. In the latter, she was a Guest Judge.
